Job Summary

Under the leadership of the Director of the Welcome Center and Outreach, designs, develops and implements strategic and engaging outreach programs focused on potential students and working with them to convert from inquiry or prospect to applicant.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the College’s mission and the needs of students, and a passion for helping students realize their educational goals

Demonstrated ability to use appropriate technology in the outreach and recruitment process

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum of two years of closely related experience

Detail-oriented and organized

Strong interpersonal communication competence both written and oral

Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively with multiple priorities

Ability to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate

Excellent record-keeping skills

Ability to take feedback from manager through coaching sessions then generate positive results

Exemplary computer proficiency including email, internet, and Microsoft Office Suite

Strong public relations skills; demonstrated interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset

Energetic and enthusiastic

Customer-service oriented

Ability to handle fast-paced work environment with interruptions and detail-oriented tasks

Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using Salesforce or other customer tracking software program

General knowledge of the federal financial aid process, the Midland College application process, the academic and career/technical programs offered by the College, and student services

Previous experience in outreach and recruitment

Previous experience in a higher education setting

Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills

Essential Functions

Schedule visits to high schools monthly for graduating senior outreach

Work with Director to develop strategic outreach and follow-up plans (that reflect strategic objectives of the College’s Mission and Strategic Plan

Develop a schedule and online calendar for tours (coordinated, including special interest)

Order recruiting materials, giveaways

Attend events and implement outreach

Fully utilize JRM

Participate in TACRAO

Work with dual credit navigator to arrange for updated high school senior applications in Apply TX

Contact and welcome prospective students to begin relationship that leads to student submitting MC admissions application

Provide guidance and support through the application process assisting students as needed with submission of the Apply TX application

Follow communication plan to maintain student momentum, providing timely responses to emails and phone calls

Maintain a demeanor of service, professionalism, and positivity at all times

Strive to meet recruitment goals and target number of applications submitted

Focus on daily metrics for call volume and contacts

Cultivate connections with students to keep them engaged in the process

Practice the coaching model to engage students in their educational pursuit

Implement an effective student-centered strategy for outreach and recruitment as part of a comprehensive outreach and recruitment plan

Participate and contribute to a creative, dynamic, and productive team culture that delivers excellent customer service and personal attention to students and parents

Develop and conduct programs and workshops to assist students and parents with the Apply TX application process and explain the next steps

Participate in professional development appropriate to the functions of the position and professional interests

Support the mission, vision, and values of the College and attend College events and meetings

Develop and demonstrate competence in these areas:

Apply Texas application, student engagement, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of all MC programs and offerings (general brochure plus campus buildings academics, CE)

Develop, implement and evaluate prospect conversion strategies

Establish and maintain relationships with area school districts, fostering strong relationships between the college and area high school counselors

Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time

Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds

Ability to work extended hours as needed

Use of manual dexterity

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

Work mostly performed indoors, some outdoors

Attendance at Midland College or community events will be required

Travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town may be required

Min Salary 2935.00 per month
Max Salary 3041.67 per month
Pay Statement Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
